How can litter effect our environment?
Whenever you throw litter on the ground it can contain toxic substances that are disposed of on land or in water, no matter how big or small the item is. It can still effect our environment in years to come.

When litter is dumped into the ocean it is effecting the birds and sea life, If litter is also washed onto the beaches. It's also known for damaging boat motors. Birds like seagulls are in danger when they get caught up in a six pack plastic rings. Many other waste can effect sea life such as broken glass that cut throw the flesh of birds and other litter such as Cigarette and silicon packets can make sea life by making them very sick if they swallow.

Land litter is not hard to spot and varies between things like cigarette butts, plastic bags, old tires, fast food wrappers and plastic and glass bottles. In Accordance to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, seven major sources relate to land litter these include home trash cans, business trash collection areas, loading docks, construction and demolition sites, uncovered trucks, motorists and pedestrians. Litter isn't just not pretty to look at, It can trigger vehicle accidents and injuries, smother plants, start fires that can harm and kill animals. It can also attract rats and harmful bacteria.

Harmful litter can also effect wells in poor countries if things like tobacco seep into ground water and affect the water quality of people. Litter can also clog storm water and drains and cause flooding.
I really like the topic in terms of addressing the problems and realizing how they effect our environment like throwing rubbish on the floor, releasing those bad substances into the atmosphere. I strongly consider where I put my rubbish making sure it's not left in a bin with no lid so the wind doesn't catch it.
I think if we ignore the risks then our planet will be in threat of global warming.
