The
 Final Piece

"The Square"

For this piece I had made a hand made from mod rock that I wanted to look part of the piece. The Hand I decided to paint a light skin color to make it seem realistic like it was a real hand reaching out to you and pulling you in. I had a good idea of making the vortex look like some of it was the hand like it would look like the hand was reaching out of the vortex. The idea worked for a while until out of curiosity I changed the vortex theme with a yellow zig-zag crawling up the hand as part of the vortex. This didn't go according to plan and most of the paint dripped down the hand, however this did have this very horrific effect after it was dried. It took me half an hour to dry and by the end some of it was still damp. The outcome wasn't really what I'd excepted but I still got the rest of my back board finished and painted. Like the vortex center. As I was painting I was unaware of how much paint I was applying to the board I wanted the vortex to look like it was coming off the board. So I added layers of paint, I painted over with a zig zap to paint leading up to the hand.
